Bored by debt ceiling headlines? 

The repercussions of the debt ceiling negotiations are serious and scary, regardless of your ideology.  Most reasonable people recognize that our country does not want the elderly to suddenly be without their social security check, disabled veterans to be without healthcare or active military families to go without a paycheck. 

We can all thump our chests over the waste we can easily think of throughout government – but we want OUR priorities to remain.

President Obama and Speaker of the House Boehner took their squabble to the airwaves last night.  Perhaps it was posturing to bring far factions of each party closer to the center.  Perhaps it was just public airing of dirty laundry, legitimately resulting from different ideologies.

Either way, the next week is important for public sector contractors.  If you sell to the government, the ability for our executive and legislative branches to compromise on this issue affects you.  You might not get paid.  You might not get a contract award.  You might have a contract cancelled after you developed an expensive prototype or hired staff to ramp up.
