Gratitude
I have the honor of serving Michigan’s veteran entrepreneur community through active participation in Michigan’s SDVOB Roundtable. Mandated by Michigan code, this group is charged with providing veteran commuity feedback to the State of Michigan regarding their implementation of the State’s procurement price preference for companies owned by service disabled veterans. (This preference passed in 2005, when I ran marketing and supplier diversity outreach for the State of Michigan. I worked with many of the same roundtable members for guidance in implementation.)
Yesterday, a few of us met with members of Governor Snyder’s team, who offered an engaged and eager response. As a group, we are optimistic.
This post is not about the Governor’s team (which was impressive and deserves praise). Instead, it is about these amazing men I get to work with through this roundtable. They are all veterans who already offered their lives to serve their country. For that, they deserve our awe and unending gratitude. Today, they are retired from military service but continue to serve their fellow veterans by working to improve Michigan’s entrepreneurial climate for them.
Yesterday, I was in the presence of great public servants — Keith King, Tim Racey, Ed Ronders, Greg Stachura, Mike Harris and Bruce MacDonald… please accept my gratitude.
Thank you, guys. I’m honored to work with you.
