Sometimes, our team obsesses over random things.  (Okay, I might instigate that.)

The Super Committee is one of those things.  This committee is filled with 12 members: 3 House and 3 Senate Democrats along with 3 House and 3 Senate Republicans.  They are charged with accomplishing what the legislative and executive branches could not — finding agreement on budgetary priorities.

Side note — the committee name implies each member should have a cape and a silly unitard.  I do NOT want to see John Kerry in a unitard.  Ever.  It’s not about ideology, either.  Just an ew factor.

Since appointment, Super Committee members have received intense lobbying from interest groups, and PAC donors are coming out of the woodwork.  Almost better for fundraising than Ways and Means.  Each interest group thinks their issue is the most important.

Okay, another side note — Michigan has two Republican Congressman on the Super Committee.  This should give us Super State status, right?
